When people imagine God, they often picture someone who mostly wants to take. Wants your behavior, your money, your guilt, your time. That picture turns a lot of people away, and understandably so. But it is worth asking whether the picture is even true.
The faith I am inviting you to consider describes the opposite. A God who gives first. Who gives existence before you could earn it, breath before you asked, a world you did nothing to deserve. The whole story, at its center, is about a God who keeps giving even when it costs. There is an old line that it is better to give than to receive, and it is not a slogan. It is a description of what love actually is, and of the One the faith says love comes from.
This matters for you because we tend to become like what we worship, whatever that is. Chase only getting, and you slowly shrink into a person who only gets. But a life shaped by a God who gives starts to open outward. Giving is not how you pay God back. It is how you begin to share in the kind of life God has.
You cannot prove this from the outside. But you can taste a piece of it. Give something away, freely, expecting nothing back, and pay attention to what happens inside you. That small experiment tells you more than any argument.
